Red Lady Papaya – Fast-Growing and Fruity
The Red Lady Papaya is a dwarf papaya variety known for its rapid growth and early fruiting. It’s a heavy producer, yielding large, sweet red-fleshed fruits.
Tree Characteristics:
• Size & Growth: Grows 6-10 feet tall, making it more compact than other papaya varieties.
• Planting Zone: USDA Zones 9-11.
• Container Suitability: Can be grown in large containers, though it does best when planted directly in the ground.
• Flowers: Small, creamy white flowers.
• Fruit: Large, red-fleshed fruits, typically weighing 3-5 pounds, known for their sweetness.
Use: Ideal for fresh eating, juicing, or adding to fruit salads. The sweet flavor and attractive red flesh make it popular in tropical regions.
Standout Feature: The fast growth and early fruiting, typically within 7-8 months of planting, make Red Lady a favorite among home gardeners. It is also a consistent, heavy producer.
Care Tips: Red Lady Papaya thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. It requires regular watering and fertilization for optimal growth and fruiting.

Winter Shipping Advisory
Cold Weather Alert: Tropical trees are highly sensitive to cold temperatures. During colder months, our greenhouses maintain warm, optimal conditions for growth, which makes plants more vulnerable to cold damage during shipping.
Recommendations: If temperatures along the shipping route are below 40°F, we recommend holding your order until it’s safe to ship. We will notify you if a delay is necessary.
No Freeze Warranty: We do not guarantee plants shipped during freezing conditions. Shipping in cold weather is at the buyer’s discretion and risk.
Shipping Schedule
Local (In-State) Shipments: Orders ship Monday through Wednesday to ensure delivery before the weekend. Most locations within the state receive deliveries in 1 to 2 days.
